The Greatest Salesman Ever,” but in the early 1970s he was
a college student discovering what would become a lifelong love
of the sales profession.
“I met CUTCO while I was in college and I just fell in love
with it,” Mr. Cimino said. “The first time I saw the
presentation I thought it was beautiful. I took to it like a fish
to water.”
And the rest, as they say, is history.
Mr. Cimino, 53, sold CUTCO out of the Shrewsbury, N.J., office
for about 18 months in the early 1970s. At that time he was in pre-med
at Brookdale College in Lyndcroft, N.J. Today, splitting his time
between New York City and Los Angeles, he works as an independent
sales consultant.
Mr. Cimino wears the title “Louis the Legend” proudly
and gives credit for the skills that got him there to CUTCO and
Vector Marketing
and its “absolutely brilliant” sales presentation. Part
of what he was taught, and embodies to this day, is integrity and
honesty weaved into a low-pressure sales presentation. He also learned
the basics of closing a sale, rapport with the customer, communication
skills, goal setting and time-management, he said.
He’s trained hundreds of sales people through the years
and has often referenced the principles he learned selling CUTCO.
Those sales principles, he said, are constant throughout the sales
world.

“After college I got back into sales and
I was amazed that every single step of the way I was using principles
I learned selling CUTCO,” he said. “CUTCO was my ABC’s
in sales.”
Even after three decades Mr. Cimino is still in the business of
selling CUTCO. He said he often sings the praises of the training
and the CUTCO product and is still using his sample kit to prepare
meals at home 30 years later as evidence of the validity of CUTCO’s
Forever Guarantee.
“I guess you could call me a poster boy for CUTCO,”
he said.
